Lars Bakers
Lars Bakers has been member of the bar since 1999. After working for five years at the international law firm Stibbe, he relocated his practice in 2004 to a smaller and more specialized setting.
Lars specializes in Intellectual Property Law, in addition to running a diverse consultancy and civil litigation practice focusing on competition law, liabilities, (international) contracts and insurance law (mainly credit insurance). Lars provides advice to a wide range of clients, consisting of multinationals with high-profile international property-law portfolios, but also cultural organizations, individual writers, artists and athletes. His clients operate in a variety of professional and cultural fields, including fashion & lifestyle, food industry, aviation and other transport sectors, media and communications, music and sports.
Lars graduated from Leiden University with degrees in Law and International Relations. As part of his final-year work, he participated in a 6-month United Nations project in Vienna related to the international ban on nuclear testing, in addition to taking study trips to the United States and Russia. Lars also completed a brief stint at Stibbe's New York office.
Lars gives lectures on a frequent basis, amongst other at the University of Leiden. He is a member of several associations in his professional field, including the Benelux Association for Trademark and Design Law, the Dutch Association for Copyright Law, the Dutch Association for Media & Communications Law, and the Dutch Society for Sports and Law.
Lars speaks English, Danish and German.
