Saar van Waegeningh
Saar van Waegeningh has been member of the Bar since 1997. The first nine years, with a one year interval in Denmark, Saar worked at the law firm Pels Rijcken & Droogleever Fortuijn in The Hague (the state attorney).
Saar, who specialises in employment law both in the public and private sector, has a wide experience in advising major and small(er) enterprises in the field of labour law, varying from the termination of employment in individual cases to large reorganizations and guidance on employees’ representation. She has furthermore advised civil servants heading various Ministries, Public Authorities and Corporations.
Saar also regulary represents organisations and foundations who are eligible for subsidies from the authority in discussions and disputes concerning (the allocation of) these subsidies.
Saar is author of several legal publications on employment law and member of professional organisations in her field, including the Vereniging voor Arbeidsrecht (Labour Law Association), and the European Employment Law Association (EELA). She also gives law courses for members of the Bar and other lawyers for the umbrella organisation Opleidingen Sociaal Recht (Social Law Training Courses in her field).
Saar studied law, both civil law and criminal law, at Leiden University and obtained her final degree, with honours, at the Grotius Labour Law courses in June 2006.
Saar is fluent in English and conversant in French and German.
